Francois Christophe de Kellermann (28 May 1735 - 23 September 1820), French military commander and Marshal of France, authentic, autographed manuscript document (DS). This one page document is approximately 8" x 12" in size and is dated April 28, 1808.

The document is affixed to a larger piece of paper and bears the printed name of "Kellermann" in the bottom margin.

Kellermann served as the 1st Duc de Valmy (1808) and is a well recognized name French military history. He served in varying roles in both the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars.

Due to his long association with the army, he became a target of the Reign of Terror and was imprisoned in 1793. After two years upon his release, he returned to command and retired from the military in 1797.

Most notably, Kellermann is remembered for his victory over the Prussian Army at the Battle of Valmy

This untranslated document is crisply signed at the conclusion by Kellermann as the Duke of Valmy. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. There are some scattered creases and expected intersecting fold lines.
