Vernon L. Davey, American educator, autographed vintage handwritten quotation (AQS). Davey served as Superintendent of Vernon L. Davey Junior High School in East Orange, New Jersey, from the turn of the century through his retirement in 1912.

Extracted from the pages of a 1902 Autograph Calendar book recovered from Orange Memorial Hospital, New Jersey, Davey added the following quote to a page with the printed date of March 27: "Education is the source of prosperity and happiness, the promoter of patriotism, the antidote for anarchy. Vernon L. Davey."

Measuring approximately 7.75 x 5, this autographed quotation is in overall fine condition, with light toning and a rough left edge from extraction.
