Sarah Tyson Rorer (October 18, 1849 – December 27, 1937), American pioneer in the field of domestic science, authentic, autographed vintage handwritten quotation (AQS), 7.75 x 5. Rorer shared her knowledge through Table Talk, of which she was part owner and editor, from 1886 to 1892. She was an editor at Household News, a staff member of Ladies Home Journal and eventually at Good Housekeeping. Rorer published several culinary works, including, "Philadelphia Cook Book" (1886), "Mrs. Rorer's New Cook Book" (1902), "My Best 250 Recipes" (1907) and "A Book on Diet and Cookery," amongst others.
Extracted from the pages of a 1902 Autograph Calendar book recovered from Orange Memorial Hospital, New Jersey, Rorer added the following quote to a page with the printed date of November 24: "She, who wishes to be a man, and seeks masculine occupations, has never fully realized, which it is to be a woman - a mother. Sarah Tyson Rorer."
In fine condition, with overall light toning and a rough left edge from extraction.
