Joseph Chamberlain (8 July 1836 – 2 July 1914), British politician and statesman, authentic vintage signature. The leading imperialist of his day in Britain in both the radical wing of the Liberal Party and the Liberal Unionist alliance partner of the Conservative Party, Chamberlain was the chief advocate and supervisor of the Second Boer War.
Extracted from the pages of a 1902 Autograph Calendar book recovered from Orange Memorial Hospital, New Jersey, Chamberlain signed a page with the printed date of January 9, "J. Chamberlain / Sept. 1901."
Measuring approximately 7.75 x 5, this autographed quotation is in overall fine condition, with light toning, some surface wrinkling and a rough left edge from extraction.
