Cynthia May Westover Alden

Cynthia May Westover Alden (May 31, 1862 – January 8, 1931), American writer, authentic, autographed vintage handwritten quotation (AQS), 7.75 x 5. Alden was a journalist with the New York Recorder and the New York Tribune. While with the Tribune, Alden founded the International Sunshine Society, of which she served as president-general.

Extracted from the pages of a 1902 Autograph Calendar book recovered from Orange Memorial Hospital, New Jersey, Alden added the following quote to a page with the printed date of December 24: "May your life have just enough of the shadows to temper the glare of the sun is the wish of yours every faithfully, in sunshine or shade, Cynthia Weston Alden, President General, International Sunshine Society."

In fine condition, with overall light toning and a rough left edge from extraction.
