John William Draper (May 5, 1811 - January 4, 1882), notable American scientist, philosopher and physician, collection of vintage paper ephemera including five autographed checks and a printed lithograph. Draper is credited with producing the first clear photograph of a female face and the first detailed photograph of the Moon, circa 1840. 

Checks all dated from 1866 - 1879, each made out and signed by Draper, "Jno. W. Draper"; and a printed lithograph measuring approximately 7 x 10.5, featuring a facsimile signature.

Checks feature the expected age wear, with toning, soiling, folds and some tearing; printed lithograph is in fine condition, with light toning.
