Deke Slayton

Deke Slayton (March 1, 1924 - June 13, 1993) former WWII pilot and NASA astronaut, autographed 8x10 photograph. Slayton was one of the original seven astronauts of the Mercury program, alongside Alan Shepherd, Gus Grissom, John Glenn, Scott Carpenter, Wally Schirra and Gordon Cooper. Due to a heart murmur, Slayton was grounded and later became NASA's Director of Flight Crew Operations. This vintage color photo is autographed by Slayton and in excellent condition.
