Chase Nielsen

Authentic Chase Nielsen (January 14, 1917, Hyrum, Utah - March 23, 2007, Brigham City, Utah) autographed vintage commemorative first day philatelic cover commemorating 'Charles A. Lindbergh' and 'The Spirit of St. Louis' featuring a '50th Anniversary Solo Transatlantic Flight' 13¢ stamp canceled on May 20th, 1977. Nielsen was the Navigator of Crew #6 and has inscribed the cover with the following lengthy inscription "Lt. Col. Chase J. Nielsen (Ret), Doolittle Raider - Navigator on Crew #6. Only living survivor. Lt. Dean Hallmark - Pilot Executed; Lt. John Meder - Co Pilot died in Prison Camp - Sgts. Dieter & Fitzmaurice were killed when we crashed off China coast 4-18-42." An amazing recollection and detailed account of the fate of Crew #6 in the hand of the only surviving member of Crew #6, Mr. Chase Nielsen.
