Vintage 19th century stereoview photograph card of a frozen landscape in the Arctic Circle. Identifying print below image reads, "During the Arctic's long Summer Day - Esquimaux Homes, Peteravik, Ellesmere Land (79 deg. N. Lat.)." Print along the left side identifies the publishers as "Underwood & Underwood." Print on verso describes the scene, in part: "This is summer time at Peteravik, Ellesmere Land. We are not surprised at the show and the furs, however, when we reflect that Ellesmere Land is well within the limits of the Arctic Circle, directly north of Hudson Bay."
Measuring approximately 7 x 3.5 and mounted on charcoal-colored cardstock, this stereoview photograph card is in fine condition.
