US Labor Strikes - Seminole, Oklahoma, vintage 8 x 10 inch silver print fiber photograph credited to Russell Lee. Image, circa 1939 - photograph printed at a later date. Inscription on verso reads: "Seminole, Okla / Wives of striking members of oil workers union preparing lunch / Photo - Lee - 1939."
Russell Lee (July 21, 1903, Ottawa, Illinois – August 28, 1986, Austin, Texas), American photographer and photojournalist, best known for his work for the Farm Security Administration (FSA). His technically excellent images documented the ethnography of various American classes and cultures.
Printed in the second half of the 20th century as part of the American Heritage Publishing Archive.
Verso bears original handwritten ID notations and credit stampings. In very good condition.
