Ovie Carter (March 11, 1946), American photojournalist, vintage glossy photograph, signed and inscribed, dated 1979. While working for The Chicago Tribune in 1974, Carter traveled through Africa and India with fellow reporter, William Mullen, documenting the devastating epidemic of famine affecting almost half a billion people. Documented in their five-part series entitled Faces of Hunger, the two garnered massive recognition and won the 1975 Pulitzer Prize in international reporting.
Notations on verso place the scene in N'Djamena, Chad in 1974.
Measuring approximately 7 x 10, this photograph is in fine condition.
