Katharine Hepburn (May 12, 1907 - June 29, 2003), classic American film actress, authentic, autographed vintage handwritten letter (ALS), two pages, postmarked June 6, 1990. Over the course of her illustrious career, Hepburn won a record four Academy Awards for the films "Morning Glory," "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," "The Lion in the Winter" and "On Golden Pond."
This piece comes from a vast collection of letters spanning a 12 year correspondence between the elusive actress and an avid admirer, Alice Hicks. In this response, Hepburn sends Hicks thanks in her signature scrawl, in part: "You couldn't send me too many turtles it's just that I can't stop eating them so that my lack of character & my lust for chocolate are liable to kill me - So don't do it often...For the box - great big cookies - excellent slippers / Emily Dickensen [sic] poems...Don't use stockings - Nora is very happy...You are too generous - You must hold yourself in check..."
Accompanied by original mailing envelope.
Penned on yellow lined stationery, the letter measures approximately 8.5 x 13 inches in size, and has been signed in black ink, "K."
In fine condition.
