Written across four panels of a single folded sheet, Strickland writes to Miss Steele regarding a recent move from London and retrieving books she thought "had been returned...," signing at the conclusion, "Elisabeth Strickland / May 11, 1857 / Abbots Lodge / Tilford / near Farnham / Surrey."

Measuring approximately 4.5 x 7, this letter is in very good condition, with light toning and the expected mailing folds.
