Juliet C. Cushing, prominent New Jersey notable, autographed vintage handwritten quotation (AQS). Cushing served as President of Consumers League of New Jersey and the Women's Club in Orange, New Jersey. She also served as Chairman of The New Jersey Child Labor and Welfare Committee.
Extracted from the pages of a 1902 Autograph Calendar book recovered from Orange Memorial Hospital, New Jersey, Cushing added the following quote to a page with the printed date of May 13: "Would that our hearts might receive, and tenderly minister to those whose lives are crushed, or maimed or hurt, perhaps by trial, possibly by bad mistakes. Should we not thus imitate Him who said, 'They that are whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.' Juliet C. Cushing."
Measuring approximately 7.75 x 5, this autographed quotation is in overall fine condition, with light toning and a rough left edge from extraction.
