George R. Caron (October 31, 1919 - June 3, 1995), tail gunner on the B-29 Enola Gay during the historic bombing of Hiroshima, authentic autographed 8 x 10 glossy photograph.
The Enola Gay, named for pilot Paul W. Tibbets' mother, was the first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb in the history of warfare on the city of Hiroshima, Japan. The attack on Hiroshima and the subsequent bombing of Nagasaki, which remain the only use of nuclear weapons for warfare in history, served to avoid a costly invasion of the Japanese mainland and facilitated the end of the War.
